Onixya! the brood mother

Onixya the brood mother is back!

This fight is very simple. It’s basically the mother of all dragons in her cave guarding her eggs. We are supposed to go in there and kill her sons and daughters and we are supposed to think she’s the bad guy.Well, her sons and daughters do bring a lot of chaos and destruction to the land, so who cares.

This fight consists of three phases, lets run them over 1 by 1.

Phase 1 : Onixya is startled to see you, so she will ran towards whoever is closest. this is a tank and spank fight, just make sure the tank gets to her first. 2 things we need to watch out for, the tail since it will send you flying very far, and the front since her fire breath is hot, and she kinda cleaves and hits anyone in front of her. Tanks of old would take her to the other side, where she is lying down when you come in. This is done cause when she gets to 60% health i think, she starts to walk to the entrance and will fly off to attack over head. If you tank her near the entrance she will just walk a few feet and fly, if she is tanked where she starts you can hit her and burn her while she walks to the entrance. Be careful, since her tail and front are dangerous spots, it’s sometimes better to tank her near entrance, and avoid the extra risks of turning her around or the tank dying because a healer isnt close.

Phase 2:  as i said earlier she flies and attacks from above, while she sends captains and whelps after you. From each of the sides there will come a lot of whelps, A LOT, you need a tank on each side or a very pro tank to take em all. Captains come from the entrance, these have a mean aoe, so ranged should kill them, or melee should run out very quickly. All this happens while ranged DPS is burning onixya down. Melee can also hit her if they stand right below her. When she gets to 40% she will come down for phase 3.

The most important thing to remember is to avoid the deep breath she does. Easy way to avoid it is touch a wall. But don’t walk onto the eggs or whelps will spawn.

Phase 3: She is pissed, u killed some of her whelps, her captains, and you are still alive. She will come down and do a massive fear. This part is the easiest, its a basic spank and tank. Still avoid the eggs, avoid the face and avoid the tail.
